Biography
Jack "Jacky" Doden has a Masters in Linguistics with a focus on teaching English as a second language from the University of Iowa. They strive to support students both inside and outside of their classes by bringing new technologies to the classroom, tutoring Korean for the CLCL's language tutoring program, and supervising student technology assistants.
Specific Responsibilities
- maintains and supplies inventory by procuring necessary supplies, equipment, and materials that keep the CLCL running
- trains faculty, TAs, and undergraduates on One Button Studio (OBS), virtual reality (VR), and podcasting equipment
- supervises student technology assistants
- provides support to Linguistics, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian
General Responsibilities
- designs and develops instructional materials, evaluating the effectiveness of strategies/pedagogical approaches
- consults and collaborates with faculty/staff on projects, events, and other pertinent issues
- administers and manages ICON
- manages instructional support facilities, assuring facilities are in compliance with health and safety regulations
- advises Director on budgetary needs to discrepancies
