Podcasting Studio (PH 120C)
The Podcasting Studio contains a Tascam Mixcast 4, microphones, headphones, and soundproofing which allow for high-quality audio/podcast recording. You can schedule a tutorial by e-mailing Jack Doden (jack-doden@uiowa.edu).
Study Rooms (PH 120E-J)
These easy-to-use studios offer students a way to create and edit video projects for language classes, which can be easily uploaded to ICON sites or e-mailed to their instructor. They also serve as a quiet, private place to work and study.
Recording Studio (PH 120D)
The Recording Studio is equipped with OBS (One Button Studio) and green screen equipment, which is a user-friendly way to create high-quality videos.
This studio is preferentially reserved by ASL Program faculty for their students. Therefore, ASL students do not book this room directly and instead walk in to use it on a first come, first served basis. While lines do form, they often move quickly as ASL students are encouraged to come prepared.
Faculty and students outside of the ASL Program can book the room by e-mailing Andy Lewis (andrew-lewis@uiowa.edu).
CALL Lab (PH 17) & Computer Labs (PH 18/18A)
These rooms have 20+ computers each, equipped with Microsoft Office Suite, webcams, and headphones, making them well-suited for language assessment, research, and writing projects. The CALL Lab also includes Sanako 1200 software and Camtasia, allowing for collaboration work and video editing.
See the calendars below for room availability. They may take a minute to load.
