Join us for World Language Day, a full day of engaging events designed especially for high school students interested in language study! Explore languages, cultures, international studies, linguistics, and translation through interactive games, hands-on activities, and micro-teaching sessions led by faculty and students. Discover new languages, connect with fellow language enthusiasts, and experience the world in a single day!

Attendees will have time to peruse our program offerings, getting a taste of the kinds of things that you can learn in our different academic disciplines. This will include mini-games, activies, and time to chat with faculty and student ambassadors!

Wrap up the day by making your final rounds to talk with faculty, current students, and fellow attendees! Don't forget to get your branded water bottle or anything else you picked up throughout the day!

Travel Logistics

Drop-Off

Attendees can be dropped off and picked up at Phillips Hall in downtown Iowa City. There is space to unload a car, bus, or van.

Parking

While the event is taking place, busses will need to park elsewhere. Available parking will be arranged on campus in the Hancher Lot. Busses can also be parked further afield at Coral Ridge Mall.

For cars or vans, parking ramps or street parking are available downtown at an hourly rate.

Lunch

A pizza lunch is included in your registration and will take place at 12:30 pm on the day of the event. If you have dietary restrictions, e-mail the CLCL (dwllc-clcl@uiowa.edu) for accommodation.
