"I am a Spanish major who is also pursuing a degree in Secondary/World Language Education, which basically means I am studying to be a Spanish teacher in a Middle or High School setting! I am also pursuing a certificate in Museum Studies, and knowledge of a second language is always beneficial in making cultural education spaces like museums more accessible. Looking even further into the future, I hope to some day get a PhD focusing on Spanish Literature in some capacity, so my language education now is beginning to pave the road there!"

"Studying Spanish at Iowa not only has allowed me to meet amazing people in class that I now consider very good friends, but it also showed me the many different ways that I can use Spanish in my field of Speech Pathology. This allowed me to further grow my abilities and confidence to be able to use Spanish in my future endeavors. "

"Studying language and culture helps you better understand the world and people around you. Diversity surrounds us and when we can understand others we can better support them and build up those in our community."
